چکیده
Orthopantomograms of different individuals were studied to understand the prevalence morphological variants in styloid process. New types processes identified other than that found existing classification while proceeding with study. Thus, a deeper examination this topic felt interesting. To identify anatomical variations process and its distribution according age gender on digital panoramic radiographs. A total 1000 radiographs from database analyzed for distribution. Langlais modification is used The tapered wavy forms apart process, elongated category. Among population under study category predominant compared wise manifested predilection among male. Moreover, variant dominated older adult younger groups. Considering as parameter Type IV prevails group. 1):The two new categorized identified, which be included classification. 2): Elongated most predominantly seen, variety common variety, 86.6% was seen females 83.8% males; 3): Wavy dominant males 16.1%, whereas it 13.3%. 4): Contemplation parameter, male 5): Relatively high type next group upto 20 years.

An Asymptomatic and Overelongated Styloid Process
Elongation of the styloid process is a rare condition. Only 4% of patients have clinical symptoms where elongated styloid process (ESP) occasionally irritates or disrupts adjacent anatomical structures, which is called Eagle syndrome. This present report was aimed at reporting an asymptomatic ESP with unusual width and length.
متن کاملStyloid Process Syndrome
Styloid syndrome is a condition in which an elongated styloid process or calcified stylohyoid ligament causes occasional pain in the neck, a feeling of a foreign body (in the pharynx?) or some other form of retromandibular-cervical pain. In adults the styloid process is approximately 25 mm long with a tip which is located between the external and internal carotid arteries, lateral to the pharyn...
متن کاملEagle's syndrome (elongated styloid process)
Eagle's syndrome occurs when an elongated styloid process or calcified stylohyoid ligament causes recurrent throat pain or foreign body sensation, dysphagia, or facial pain. Additional symptoms may include neck or throat pain with radiation to the ipsilateral ear. In adults, the styloid process is approximately 2.5 cm long, and its tip is located between the external and internal carotid arteri...
متن کاملThe clinical significance of an elongated styloid process
In living persons, the elongated styloid process may produce characteristic head and neck pain syndromes, commonly known as Eagle's syndrome. An awareness of this syndrome is important to all health practitioners involved in the diagnosis and treatment of neck and head pain. This article reviews the clinical importance of the elongated styloid process.

A 51-year-old man presented with right orbital pain and Horner syndrome three weeks previously. Although magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed no intracranial abnormalities, time-of-flight imaging of MR angiography (Picture A) detected an intimal flap and T1-weighted imaging (Picture B) indicated an intramural hematoma in the right internal carotid artery (ICA) at the cervical segment. Threed...
